Welcome, and Thank You for visiting The Dunham Ranch website. We have owned, ridden and raised Quarter Horses and Ponies for over 25 years. From Pro Rodeo, cattle and performance, to Trail, Pleasure riding, and good all around family enjoyment!

We are a small select ranch located in Southern California. We specialize in Foundation Bred American Quarter Horses, American Quarter Ponies and Welsh Ponies.  Our goal is to raise a few quality horses and ponies suitable for any discipline. Versatility is the key.
 
First and foremost starting with disposition.
Honest, trainable, willing, good minds are top priority. We will not own or breed any horse or pony that does not possess all of these qualities. The criteria for our horse and ponies dispositions here at The Dunham Ranch is very strict.
 
Conformation is equally as important. Our goal is to improve the breeds.
 
Our passion is color, dun, grulla, roan, palomino , double dilutes ,etc….  But make no mistake , we never sacrifice the disposition or conformation.   We do not breed just for a high percentage of foundation blood, or just for a "cool color." We do not do any inbreeding. We will not breed any horse or pony that carries any bad conformation flaws/crooked legs, a parrot mouth or under bite. We will not breed  any horse or pony that has a serious behavior or aggression problem.
 
Yes, we are picky.  But, We feel we are taking a responsible stand in reproducing the horse and ponies we love so much!

 

All the horses at The Dunham Ranch get daily handling, regular farrier care, worming and veterinary care. The pens are cleaned daily and horses are fed the best quality feed, and always have fresh clean water! They are all family!
