All the babies at The Dunham Ranch are handled from day one. They get wormed , vaccinated and have hoof trims as neccessary. We believe that the first year of handling and human contact is the most important. Not to raise "pets", but , quiet, willing,confident and trusting foals, that will mature into honest, trainable adult horses. Also why we choose such level headed honest mares, they are there along with us from day one helping!

Part of our foal handling includes loading and standing quietly in a trailer, we make it a nice experience with no force or fight. Our babies know that we are not going to hurt them or put them in harms way. This make life much easier when they are big horses!
